Together we can promote wellbeing
Promoting children and young people's wellbeing is a key part of keeping them safe, helping them develop and ensuring they have positive outcomes in adulthood (Public Health England, 2021).
Here at Moorland we pride ourselves on our whole school wellbeing focus.
We wholeheartedly embrace the importance of putting mental health and wellbeing at the forefront of our school ethos.
We dedicate time every Wednesday to staff and pupil wellbeing through our Wellbeing curriculum.
We provide opportunities for pupils to participate in 5 key strands:
-
Communication
-
Community
-
Creativity
-
Culture
-
Complete wellbeing
We have wellbeing ambassadors who are chosen from our Year 6 pupils to promote well-being by offering opportunities for children to chat to them at break time and lunchtime.
We have a dedicated wellbeing team who are always on hand for staff, pupils or parents to offer support and advice. We understand how important it is to support families during stressful or difficult times, both in and out of school. We provide a range of experiences, interventions and resources for pupils that promote healthy bodies and minds. We also run a Wellbeing coffee morning for parents and carers every Wednesday - feel free to pop in for a chat and a coffee!
