Welcome to Moorland Primary School and Nursery and thank you for showing an interest in our school website.  My name is Angela Garner and I feel extremely proud and privileged to be the headteacher of such passionate and enthusiastic children, a local community who supports one another to succeed and a team fully committed to improving the life chances of every single child.

We are a vibrant primary school providing education for children aged 3 to 11 years old.   Our excellent Early Years provision includes a  purpose built nursery where we welcome Rising 3’s to join us. Our children learn through play and our experienced  team ensure that they have lots of memorable experiences to build their knowledge and skills upon ensuring that they are given every opportunity to leave Reception ready for the next stage in their learning. 

We believe that a happy child is a successful one, so we have worked hard to design a curriculum that is adventurous, challenging and enjoyable.  In all year groups we recognise the importance of reading, as it underpins everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that every child feels valued and we work hard to provide high quality learning opportunities that enable every child to succeed and become passionate and resilient learners.  Moorland really is an exciting and happy place to learn!

We have developed seven core values for our Moorland Community. These are our RESPECT values of Resilience, Empathy, Self-Awareness, Passion, Equity, Communication and Teamwork.  Our children display our values  wonderfully and are fully committed to our vision “Together We can”.

We work closely with our local Family Centres, community and a range of other external agencies to ensure that we can support all our children and families as best as we can.  We are a friendly, nurturing school and work in partnership with parents and carers to provide an excellent education in a secure, stimulating environment. 

We hope that your children will be very happy with us.  We understand that every child is unique, so we look carefully at all their individual needs as soon as they begin their Learning Journey with us.  We have an experienced staff team who not only educate but also nurture and care for your children.  The staff, governors and Campfire Education Trust are committed to both the children and families and truly believe that together we can make a difference to the whole community.
