Admissions to our Nursery and School - Join Us!

Admissions to our Nursery

We welcome enquiries from parents who are looking for a nursery place for their child from the age of 2 years and 9 months.   If you would like to find out more about our nursery and what we have to offer, please contact the school office, and we will be happy to answer any questions you have and arrange a visit.

Nursery Admissions Process

Applications to our Nursery are made directly to the school.  The majority of our nursery children are admitted in the term after their 3rd birthday.  But, we have a limited number of places for Rising 3 children, who may be admitted at the start of the term when they celebrate their 3rd birthday (subject to the availability of places).

As we are a school nursery, we can offer up to 26 part-time places - 15 hours per week (Monday - Friday in the mornings).  Afternoon spaces are available for children with 30-hour funding and for parents who may wish to pay for an extended nursery session.  Please ask the school office about availability of afternoon places and the fee charged.

If you wish to apply for a Nursery place, please contact the school to make an appointment to meet the Headteacher and visit the Nursery.

The Headteacher and nursery staff will answer any questions you may have.  Parents who wish to apply for a Nursery place must then fill in the application form and return it to school.  Applications for future years can be held on file.

Once your child has been offered a nursery place, we invite parents and their children to spend time in the nursery as part of our Stepping Up to help the children get ready for Nursery.  Documentation will be required to support applications including children’s birth certificate or passport and proof of address. This will consist of Council Tax statement, Council Tax Benefit letter, or Council Tax exemption certificate.

Admissions to our School

All children requiring a Reception Class space will need to apply for a primary school place through Milton Keynes City Council.

The Camphill Education Trust, which is the admissions authority for Moorland Primary School has set the number of children to be admitted to the Reception year in the school year which begins in September 2024 as 30.

The Trust participates in the Local Authority admissions service offered by Milton Keynes City Council.  Where there are more applications than there are places available, the Local Authority will allocate places according to the rank order of oversubscription criteria detailed in the Admissions Policy document

Pupils with an Education Health and Care Plan

The admission of pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan is dealt with by a completely separate procedure. Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan that names the school must be admitted.

If you would like to find out more about Moorland Primary School and Nursery or arrange a visit, please phone us on 01908 678888 or email: office@moorlandprimaryschool.co.uk and we will be happy to answer any questions you have.
